Regus is helping to make Professor Carlos Moreno’s “15 minute city” a reality. Moreno, a professor at Sorbonne in Paris, theorized a 15-minute city based on 4 pillars – proximity, diversity, density, and ubiquity. The idea is that residents have everything they need within 15 minutes, including work, education, restaurants and parks. A localized way of life away from central business districts will not only enhance community connection but will also reduce carbon emissions.
Portland, Oregon and Austin, Texas have been exploring the same concept. Businesses have set up space in suburban neighborhoods rather than central business districts to allow their employees to be closer to their homes.
The result is a larger demand for flexible workspaces in suburban locations which will benefit Regus, the promotor of this article.
