Remote employees are enjoying many aspects of virtual work while learning to navigate an entirely new working environment. Some of the enjoyed perks include the lack of commuting, spending more time with loved ones, having more time to exercise, and more time for personal projects.
A key finding from this study was the more remote employees reached out to their remote coworkers, the less work stress they encountered. This included connecting about matters outside of work as well.
Organizations will begin to adapt to a remote style of working. Relationships will take on a virtual element in the work force. We will adapt and evolve. However, face time is still a large part of human interaction, and predictably will be needed. The uses of office space will change but space will be needed for in person meetings.
