Amazon is one of the pioneers in bringing employees back to NYC after acquiring Manhattan’s iconic Lord & Taylor building. 2,000 employees are set to be working from the site – officially in 2023 when they begin moving into the space. Creating 2,000 jobs in the midst of a pandemic and housing them in NYC is a sign of what’s to come – the ultimate revival of New York. The boom in online shopping has led to revenue explosion for Amazon and they are eager to have major office space in NYC. Facebook recently leased an additional 720,000 sf in Manhattan, and Google continues to expand its NY footprint.
