The preliminary stages of office life returning to New York may begin with shared co-working office spaces. The low commitment and flexible options are alluring for many employers to test the waters of coming back into the central business districts. There are some interesting options for firms to get back into an office space. Many offer modern, open space floor plans, and social distancing while you work. Or, if you prefer, a private office. One firm is offering “social distancing prices,” where you can get a larger office for the price of a small one to allow for proper distancing. Beautiful views and privacy abound in many of these locations. We’ve been on the hunt for a great co-working space for you. Now is a good time to begin seeing these spaces. Below is some insight into what we have recently seen:
The Bond Collective: 60 Broad Street
The Bond Collective located at 60 Broad St, is a spacious coworking location in the heart of the financial district. Upon walking into the space you are immersed in a Restoration Hardware like ambiance with gorgeous views. Elegant armchairs and couches line the shared areas with a modern bar at your disposal. Wine Wednesdays are on the menu too, along with unlimited coffee, tea, and fresh fruit. There is a full kitchen with kombucha and beer on tap. Chandeliers with modern candle lighting light up the co-working lobby, creating a warm and inviting environment.
The individual co-working offices are brightly lit, some with beautiful views of the Statue of Liberty. Members are granted 24/7 access and the property is staffed from 9am to 6pm Monday to Friday. High speed Wifi is included with membership, along with mail and package handling. Call booths and multiple conference rooms are onsite. Members have access to conference rooms at all locations as well. Unlimited black and white printing and color printing allocation come with membership. Partnerships between the Bond Collective and local coffee shops and gyms are growing, granting discounts to members.
Serendipity Labs: 28 Liberty Street
Serendipity Labs is located in a modern 60 story skyscraper in the geographic center of the financial district. The 2,3,4,5, J, M and Z trains are all easily accessible from the building. The lobby is grand with a high ceiling and views of the expansive plaza. As you step into Serendipity Labs, you are presented with a large open space that includes the shared lobby and a modern kitchen and eating area. The space is bright with an abundance of natural light.
The individual offices are pleasant with high ceilings and full height windows. There are plenty of phone booths to have private conversations. The conference rooms are spacious as well, with glass walls separating your group from the halls. You also will have access to Serendipity Labs offices dispersed in other locations throughout the US. The top of the building is occupied by Manhatta, a world class restaurant run by Danny Meyer’s Union Square Hospitality Group. It’s a great place to take clients where they can take in the breathtaking panoramic views of Manhattan while sipping their favorite cocktail. Make sure to try the French onion burger.
Jay Suites: 30 Broad Street
Jay Suites offers co-working office space in Manhattan’s financial district, steps from the New York Stock Exchange. The building is a vintage, prewar, downtown building that has recently been updated. This space is ideal for lawyers and other professionals who require confidentiality as all the walls have been sound proofed. Members have access to conference rooms at other Jay Suite locations across Manhattan, with offices in Midtown East, Times Square, 5th Avenue, Penn Station, 34th Street, Grand Central, and Madison Avenue. Members booking conference rooms across town is easy using their electronic system. For relaxation Jay Suites offers a common area with a pool and ping pong table. For the right type of business, it’s an excellent solution.
The Yard: 116 Nassau Street
The Yard is a funky, coffee shop-esq, co-working shared office space based in Manhattan’s financial district. Rugs line the lobby in bright, neon colors – lots of hot pink. Exposed brick walls are a common theme here giving the offices and conference rooms an inviting, rustic feel. The offices vary in size, and windowed rooms get plenty of light, some more than others.
